On March 19, 2026, the Utah Chamber and Salt Lake Chamber hosted the Utah Rising Webinar, Water 101, featuring Dr. Brian Steed, Great Salt Lake Commissioner, and Executive Director of the Janet Quinney Lawson Institute for Land, Water and Air.
Utah’s water security and the health of our waterways are critical to our economic prosperity. Dr. Steed explained the “what, so what and now what?” of water in Utah with a focus on what’s ahead for Utah’s long-term water resilience. Attendees gained insight into the economics, policy and stewardship of water in Utah and how water impacts businesses and communities statewide, particularly through the Colorado River and Great Salt Lake.
